Shrek - the loveable & warm Green protein Smoothie
Shrek. He's Green, he's big & he's full of goodness. So is this smoothie. My boys DEVOURED this for breakfast & then fought over the left overs for afternoon tea.
I hope you enjoy this delicious smoothie as much as we do! It's got great fats in it & plant based proteins which will keep you fuller for longer. As well as spices such as Turmeric, black pepper & cinnamon which will warm you from the inside out, plus provide you with extra health benefits.
Recipe (makes 1.5L):
Place all of these ingredients in your high speed blender/Thermomix
2 Handfuls of Spinach
1 Lebanese cucumber (cut into small pieces)
1 small avocado
150g Roasted/steamed pumpkin
2 tsp of Organic Turmeric
2.5 tsp of Cinnamon
Small pinch of black pepper
2 TBSP of pea or rice protein powder
1L of liquid – I use water, but you could use milk or coconut water
2 handfuls of ice.
Blend until smooth & creamy & enjoy.
I place my excess smoothies into glass jars, so that they are a ready made snack when I’m on the run.
