Green Protein Smoothie

This Smoothie is a great breakfast for those days when:

  • You really can't be bothered making breakfast;
  • You have fussy eaters who won't eat meat or vegetables (this was both of my children);
  • You are in a hurry to get out the door;
  • All of the above!

I make bulk of this smoothie & then the kids & I can snack on it during the day. It's great for a 3pm Sugar Craving fix.

Add anything extra that you like to this smoothie, I've tried to keep it simple, but sometimes I can have over 15 ingredients in our smoothies. See how inventive you are feeling!

RECIPE:

Ingredients (Makes 4-5 Servings - you can half the quantities or save the leftovers in the fridge for tomorrow):

2TBSP Collagen, 

1 large handful of almonds or cashews, 

1 avocado,

3 drops of Lemon Young Living Essential Oil

3 Handfuls of Spinach/Kale/Lettuce;

1 Lebanese Cucumber,

1 Banana (Overripe are best) or ripe pear;

1 Cup of Ice;

4 Cups of Liquid - I use water. Coconut water or nut milk are really nice too. 

Method:

Place all ingredients into Blender/Thermomix & Blend on high speed for 1 minute (Speed 9 for Thermomix users).

Serve into a Large glass & Enjoy. Sprinkle with Chia seeds or coconut if you are feeling adventurous! I pour the extra into Glass Jars, so that my hubby & I can grab & go when we are in a hurry.  Sprinkle with Chia seeds or coconut if you are feeling adventurous!
